Blindauer Claudia, Department of Chemistry, University of Warwick, Coventry, United Kingdom

Title: The merits of Electrospray Ionisation and Ion-Mobility Mass spectrometry for metal-binding peptides

Biography:

Claudia Blindauer was born in Southern Germany and studied for a Diplom Chemie at the University of Freiburg in Breisgau. After a Ph.D. at the University of Basel, Switzerland, with Professor Helmut Sigel and postdoctoral studies at the University of Edinburgh, UK, with Professor Peter Sadler, she moved to the University of Warwick, UK, where she is now a Full Professor of Chemistry. Using bioanalytical (metallomics and metalloproteomics), biophysical (NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry) and bioinformatic (genome mining and structural modelling) approaches, her group studies the structure and dynamics of proteins involved in metal – in particular zinc – homeostasis.
