Title: A Bioorganometallic Journey from Peptide Bioconjugates to Novel Metal-based Antibiotics
Biography:
Nils Metzler-Nolte is full professor of Inorganic Chemistry at Ruhr University Bochum since 2006, where he also served as VP between 2010–2012. Nils was Speaker of a DFG-funded Research Unit, and Council Member of the Society of Biological Inorganic Chemistry. Nils is the Editor-in-Chief for JBIC, the Journal of Biological Inorganic Chemistry and serves on the international advisory board of several other journals. His work was recognized by several international awards. With research interests in medicinal organometallic chemistry and functional metal bioconjugates, the group is running a full program from inorganic synthesis to cell biology. Together with Kathy Franz he was Chair of the Metals in Medicine Gordon Research Conference in 2016, and Co-Editor of a Chemical Reviews Thematic Issue on “Metals in Medicine”.
